Deb leads Barber County United with a rural-forward vision rooted in belonging, bold ideas, and practical action. A multi-generational resident of Barber County, she believes rural communities are strongest when neighbors lift each other, build from within, and take pride in what makes them unique.

Her leadership spans programs in wellness, prevention, food security, arts, history, mental health, and community engagement - often built from the ground up to meet emerging local needs. Whether she’s speaking at a state or national forum, writing a grant on deadline, or walking a prairie trail, Deb shows up with heart, humor, and an eye on what’s next.

She believes leadership happens in unexpected places—and that every effort, no matter how small, can lead to meaningful change.
