Early Literacy Project

Your help is needed to provide the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Barber County.  Each child under 5 can receive 12 books a year in the mail for free.

Barber County United coordinates this effort.  It costs us $25 per child per year.  A donation of $125 will provide books for a child for the whole program.

​

Since the start in 2019, a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation to the Emporia State University Kansas Masonic Literacy Center has paid for the cost.  Funds through this means were exhausted in late 2022.

The Early Literacy Committee's goal is to provide th e Imagination Library and support reading development throughout the county.
